The Battle of the Faculties is here! This two-part event brings together students from all seven faculties, plus UM employees, in a mix of sports, music, and friendly competition. It’s about battling for your own faculty, meeting people from other faculties, and of course, having a great time together. Whether you're there to compete or cheer from the sidelines, this is an event you won’t want to miss.
What is the Battle of the Faculties?
The Battle of the Faculties is a new tradition kicking off in May 2025, organised by Kaleido, MUSST, and study associations from every faculty. It consists of two main events:
Battle of the Fittest – 14th of May | 13:00–17:00 | at UM Sports
This event puts faculties to the test through a series of physical challenges:
A football tournament (pre-registered teams from each faculty, sign up below).
An open rowing competition on a rowing machine—no sign-up needed, just hop on and give it a go!
A tug of war, which is also open to anyone on the day itself.
Battle of the Bands – 28th of May |19:30| at Kaleido, Tapijnkazerne 21
Each faculty will send one band to the stage at Kaleido to perform a 12-minute live set, showcasing their musical talent in order to try to win the prize. It will be an amazing concert, as all bands are sure to bring their A-game.
At the end of it all, one faculty or team will be crowned the Faculty of the Year!
